Batman-Judge Dredd: Vendetta in Gotham
Published in Paperback by Diamond Comic Dist. Star Sys. (November, 1993)
Average review score:

Great Book and great art!I've been a huge Judge Dread fun for a long time, and I was pleasently surprised to find these books of alternate universe fiction. His meeting with Batman was very well depicted, especially when the differences, as well as the hidden similarities, of the two heros were shown. A definite must read to all Judge Dread funs.

Batman: Knightfall & Beyond

Extraordinary! Great!I got the Book three years ago and went and put it on my book shelf. I recently ordered the graphic novel by Frank Miller: The Dark Knight Returns, and after reading that went and searched my book shelf for Kightfall And Beyond. Knightfall is a gripping novel of the fall of Batman by Bane, the newest criminal to hit Gotham's streets. With Batman broken, Bruce Wayne chooses Jean Paul Valley, A.K.A. Azrael, to become the the new dark knight. But the new Batman's ways of dealing with crime are too Harsh and are giving Batman's name a Bad rap. After defeating Bane, Batman kills two people and Bruce Decideds the he has made the wrong decision. After being healed by Dr. Shondra Kinsolving with her psyoinic healing power, Bruce makes his way back up to reclaiming the mantel of the Bat. When Bruce first became Batman he vowed to fight crime without taking another man's life. So now to take back his name, Bruce must defeat the man who defeated Bane. Once I started to read this book I couldn't put it down! I suggest this book to any age group and you should read it even if you aren't a batman fan! You should also read the Graphic novels Kightfall:Broken Bat and Kightfall:Who Rules the Night.

Best Places to Stay in Hawaii
Published in Paperback by Houghton Mifflin Co (December, 1998)
Average review score:

An EXCELLENT Resource for Planning a PERFECT Hawaii VacationI just got this book and I was so impressed with the writer's straight-forward style that I felt like an old friend was suggesting the best places to stay in Hawaii. It is honest and detailed and a must-have book for planners who want to make the most of their stay in Paradise.
Grant categorizes the many B&Bs, resorts, inns, condos etc. according different travellers' tastes and needs. Each island has her recommendations for "Best Romantic Hideaways," "Best Resorts for Wordly Elegance," "Best Family Resorts," "Best Resort Values," etc.
Based on her description and pictures we saw on the web, we are confident we have found exactly what we are looking for on the three islands that we want to visit on our honeymoon.
I can't say enough about it! If you are going to Hawaii and you don't want a cookie-cutter-travel-agent-planned vacation, but you still want value for your money, do yourself a favor and buy this book.

Best-Of-Friends, Too Cookbook (Best of Friends Cookbooks)
Published in Paperback by Falcon Publishing Company (November, 1990)

People love the food in this cookbook!About six years ago I was given this cookbook as a gift. Over the years I have used many of its recipes and it is one of my favorites. Her other volume is another one of my favorites. The best-loved recipes in this volume are for her beer bread, meat loaf (it will change your mind about meat loaf!), hot buttered rum, and pumpkin chiffon pie. There are recipes for appetizers, drinks, desserts, breads, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This cookbook has made an amazingly positive impact on my meals. Many of her recipes include suggestions for matching side dishes, main courses, wines and desserts. If you're looking for interesting and delicious recipes, this is the book you want.

Better Food for Dogs: A Complete Cookbook and Nutrition Guide
Published in Paperback by Robert Rose Inc (March, 2003)
Average review score:

First classBastin (et al) have codified in a single book what I have spent my whole life thus far trying to perfect: how to make the perfect dog's breakfast. The prawn rissoles in balsamic reduction were outstanding, though Rex (my unimaginatively-named pet) was unenthusiastic. But the lamb tagine with pickled lemon seemed to hit the spot (the minted cous cous with sultanas and green tea admittedly less so), as did the oranges in cointreau followed by brandy and coffee. I look forward to a follow up book explaining how to tell your kids that the reasons that the dog eats better than they do should be perfectly obvious.
While all this is happening, Batman's trusty butler, Alfred, is dying, and Poison Ivy's magic dust is making Batman and Robin fight with each other. Soon, Batman, Robin, and their new partner, Batgirl, must put aside their differences and work together.
